Welcome to LifeMates. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LifeMates website and services (the "Service") operated by LifeMates ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. By using LifeMates, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and truthful.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. One person may not maintain more than one account.
3. Acceptable use and conduct
LifeMates is a community for respectful adults seeking genuine relationships. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, demean, or discriminate against any member
- Post false, misleading, unlawful, or offensive content
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or intentions
- Solicit money, financial information, or engage in any scam or fraud
- Use the Service for commercial solicitation, spam, or advertising
- Share sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise prohibited content
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization
Please also review our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Memberships, billing, and renewals
Some features require a paid membership. Prices are displayed before you subscribe and are shown in U.S. dollars, exclusive of any applicable taxes. Paid memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate unless you cancel before the renewal date. Payments are processed by secure third-party providers.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. Except where required by applicable law, payments already made are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at info@lifemates.us and we will review your request.
6. Content you provide
You retain ownership of the content you submit. By posting content, you grant LifeMates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You are responsible for the content you share and confirm you have the right to share it.
7. Safety disclaimer
We work hard to keep our community authentic and safe, including through verification and moderation, but we do not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the conduct of any member. You are responsible for your own interactions. Please follow the guidance on our Safety & Trust page and use good judgment when communicating and meeting others.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and logos, is owned by LifeMates or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our permission.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will find a compatible match.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LifeMates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
